Abstract
The Mariner 10 differenced doppler (QOVLBI) demonstration conclusively showed that this new data type can reduce the effects of moderate unmodeled spacecraft accelerations (10-! km/s?) by an order of magnitude and reduce the effects of the solar corona by a factor of five. The differenced data solutions were also very useful in making real-time navigation decisions for use by the Mariner 10 project.
