Abstract
This article presents the preliminary findings of a study being made at CTA-2] to determine whether Deep Space Station control room equipment power may be turned off to conserve energy. The results of reliability analysis indicate that there may be some correlation between the observed increase in failure rate and cycling of equipment power in the eight-month study period.
