Abstract

This article is a part of a continuing effort to develop models to characterize the behavior of the Deep Space Network (DSN) Receiving System in the presence of a radio frequency interference (RFI). A model that allows one to predict the tracking perfor; mance of the Block IV receiver in the presence of a CW RFI is discussed. Experimental and analytical results are provided for a typical DSN operational mode. A curve of protection criteria that extends the current CCIR recommendation is also presented.
