Abstract
The validation of some proposed measures of operator workload in a large interactive computer system is described. The tests were conducted on Mark Il Deep Space Network (DSN) equipment using experienced operators as subjects. In addition to identifying the significant operator workload measures, some useful guidelines have also been obtained on operator task scheduling.
