Abstract
Due to the increased complexity of new digital equipment, there has arisen a need for more sophisticated test equipment. This article describes a piece of equipment for obtaining an optimum trigger for an oscilloscope. This equipment accepts a periodic digital sequence and its associated clock, and outputs a single pulse once per period. This output is intended to be used as the external trigger for an oscilloscope. A digital readout of the numerical value of the period is also provided to enable determination of the correct trigger to be used for a multitrace display. f(n) =f(n + P)
