Abstract
This article describes in some detail a proposed method of delivering the nonimaging science data on the Mariner Jupiter/Saturn (MJS) mission at a bit error probability which is substantially lower than the bit error probability required for the imaging data. The method is a “pre-coding” of the nonimaging data with an interleaved (24, 12) Golay code.
